Aleph Beis, Nekudos, and Tenuot Songs
Songs are a phenomenal way to learn and retain information. Their rhythm, melody, and repetition engage multiple parts of the brain, helping students store and recall information with ease. Songs turn abstract concepts into something memorable, joyful, and lasting.
Below are links to the Aleph Beis Song, Nekudos Song, and Tenuot Song. Some are available in Chabad, Ashkenazi, and Sephardic variations.
Aleph Beis Song
The Aleph Beis Song is a powerful and joyful tool for helping young learners master the אותיות. For students who struggle to remember letter names or sequence, the song provides an automatic support system. By mentally “singing” through the melody, they can locate a forgotten letter, recall its name, and identify its position in the Aleph Beis—all without adult assistance.
Singing the Aleph Beis builds confidence and independence while easing frustration during reading and fluency practice. The familiar rhythm and predictable pattern make it easier for students to store and retrieve information, especially those with weaker memory skills or slower processing speed.
If your students don’t yet know an Aleph Beis song, take the time to teach one—it’s well worth it. Choose a version that includes all the letters, including the אותיות סופיות, so students can rely on it as a complete reference.

נקודות Song
The Nekudos Song helps students remember the names and the sounds of the vowels in a fun and interactive way.
To make learning even more engaging, it’s recommended that students form the shapes of the nekudos with their arms or use “nekudah dough” to shape them while singing.
Singing the נקודות this way transforms what could be rote memorization into a playful and memorable learning experience.

תנועות Song
The תנועות Song (תנועות גדולות-תנועות קטנות) helps students understand and remember the which נקודות fall into which catergory. This is especially helpful for when learning the sheva rules.
Instead of memorizing lists in isolation, students experience the relationships between the vowels through melody and rhythm. The song brings the תנועות to life, helping children hear, feel, and internalize a concept that might otherwise feel abstract or too advanced for their age.
By turning complex ideas into music, the תנועות Song makes learning accessible, enjoyable, and attainable—even for emerging or struggling readers.
