Standard Celeration Chart (SCC)

The Standard Celeration Chart (SCC) in Alephbeis gives teachers a clear, visual way to track each student’s Hebrew reading fluency over time. It helps you quickly see not just how a student is doing, but how fast they are improving.

The SCC is based on Precision Teaching, an evidence-based approach within ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) that focuses on measuring fluency and using data to guide instruction. This means you’re not relying on guesswork—you’re using clear, measurable data to make decisions about when to move forward, when to reteach, and when to adjust your instruction.

Where the Data Comes From

The chart displays student performance across time, using data automatically pulled from:

  • Smart Tests
  • Flashcards

Each dot on the chart = one day’s reading session (showing correct answers per minute and errors per minute).

Why This Chart Is Different

Unlike a regular graph, the SCC shows rate of progress. This means you can easily tell:

  • If a student is improving steadily
  • If progress has slowed or stalled
  • If instruction is working—or needs adjustment

Key Features

Skill Area Focus

You can view progress by specific skill areas (like letters, nekudos, syllables, skilled words), and drill down further for more detail.

Automatic Aim Targets

The chart automatically sets goals for each student based on their performance.

  • Goals adjust as the student improves
  • Targets stay realistic but ambitious
  • No manual setup needed

Progress Trend (Celeration Line)

A trend line is the slanted line drawn through the dots and shows the student’s rate of growth.

This helps you quickly answer:

  • Is the student progressing fast enough?
  • Do I need to change instruction?

Phase Changes

Phase change lines show when something in instruction changed, so you can see exactly what happened before and after that change in performance.

You can add a phase change to mark things like:

  • Starting a new sub-skill
  • Switching teaching methods
  • A change in teacher

The system may also add markers automatically when it detects a shift in performance or skill.

Easy Navigation

You can access the chart from the “Celeration Chart” tab on the Student page.

Filters allow you to adjust your view by:

  • Skill area
  • Level of detail
  • Date range

How Teachers Use It

The SCC helps you:

  • Monitor fluency growth at a glance
  • Make informed instructional decisions
  • Identify when a student needs more support—or is ready to move ahead
  • Track the impact of your teaching over time

Important Notes

  • The chart shows one skill area at a time
  • Goals are automatically set (not manually adjusted)
  • The chart focuses on daily fluency (per minute)

Bottom Line

The Standard Celeration Chart helps you make instant, data-based decisions—so you know exactly when to move a student forward, when to reteach, and when to adjust instruction.
