Teacher Guides

Lesson Plans vs. Ultimate Teacher’s Guide

Based on valuable feedback from schools, we’ve reorganized the Teacher’s Guide into two distinct, user-friendly resources—each designed to make your Kriah instruction more streamlined and effective.

The Lesson Plans outlines what to teach and when, while the Ultimate Teacher’s Guide provides the how, equipping teachers with the content, structure, and tools for successful, engaging lessons.

Accessing the Daily Lesson Plans

Based on feedback from teachers across the spectrum, we’ve made the daily lesson plans more flexible than ever. You can now view and/or print the lesson plans on their own or together with the accompanying Academy articles. You also have the option to include or hide the scripted frontal lessons, allowing you to customize the format to best fit your teaching style.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Use

  • Q: I don’t use the Alephbeis curriculum. Will the Ultimate Teacher’s Guide still be useful, and how?
A: Absolutely. The Ultimate Teacher’s Guide is designed to complement any Kriah curriculum. It teaches all Kriah concepts—from simple topics like אותיות to more complex rules such as kamatz katan and kamatz gadol—and includes scripted lesson plans, proven methodologies, and adaptable teaching strategies that work with any program.

Purchasing & Pricing

  • Q: How can I purchase the printed versions of the guides, and how much do they cost?
A: The Sefer Guide is priced at $15, and the preliminary edition of the Ultimate Teacher’s Guide costs $75. Note that the introductory price for the Ultimate Teacher’s Guide will not apply after the preliminary phase ends. Both guides can be purchased here.

  • Q: Can I purchase PDF licenses of the Ultimate Teacher’s Guide and print it for my teachers?
A: No. The Ultimate Teacher’s Guide is only available either as a printed book or in a view-only digital format. Unlike the Kriah seforim, we do not offer a downloadable PDF version.

Updates & Versions

  • Q: How frequently are the teacher’s guides updated?
A: The guides are updated regularly, based on feedback and questions from teachers.

  • Q: How will I know if a teacher’s guide has been updated so I can print the latest version?
A: We recommend printing the guide at the beginning of the year and using it daily, marking off each day as you progress. This will help you stay on track with the suggested schedule and ensure you’re completing all assessments. If you have questions, check the online version of the guide, as newer editions may include helpful updates.

  • Q: Why don’t the teacher’s guide pages match my sefer?
A: Our teacher’s guides are always based on the most recent edition of the sefer. If you’re using an older version, you may need to adjust page numbers accordingly.

  • Q: How often are the seforim updated? Is it every year?
A: Seforim updates vary; they’re revised based on research and user feedback. Some editions remain the same for up to five years, while others may be updated annually.

Grade Levels & Differentiation

  • Q: Why are there different grade levels within the same curricular level?
A: Teaching methodologies vary between kindergarten and first grade, even within the same curricular level. Our differentiated guides ensure optimal learning for students at each age.

  • Q: What happened to the direct links that took me to the files? I can’t seem to find them.

A: As the curriculum and resources continued to grow, keeping hundreds of direct links updated became unsustainable. Instead, the guide now lists the exact name of each resource and provides a direct link to the corresponding Academy article. Simply search for the resource by name in the app to access the most up-to-date version, while the Academy article provides the latest instructions, lesson plans, and teaching guidance.

  • Q: I can’t find the resource listed in the guide. What should I do?

A: First, make sure you’re looking in the correct curricular level, as resources are organized by sefer. Then, verify that you’re searching for the exact resource name listed in the guide. If you still can’t find the resource, please contact us at [email protected], and we’ll be happy to help you locate it.
